Greenwich Village, NYC

Completed 2017

3,000 sf Interior Renovation

Interior Designer: Revamp

Photography: Peter Kubilus

Alluding to the chef and owners’ hometown of Monterrey Mexico, the design references geography in angled interior volumes, the back bar design, and a topographical mural. The chef’s artful creations stand out against the warm neutral palette of white, taupe, and grey with accents of copper and green.

Located in a landmarked district, the façade was restored and left open for unobstructed views into the restaurant. A dynamic white LED lighting system transforms the restaurant from a bright dynamic daytime atmosphere to a golden, sensual scene at night, allowing passersby being drawn to the happening within.

At the bar, soft backlit waves create a stunning focal point, enhanced by the resin-encased copper bartop. Tambour clads the face of the bar and host stand. Light washes up the white brick walls from behind crisp modern banquettes, with views of the bar reflecting in mirrors above.
